OWNER THAM NGUYEN IS A FRIENDLY, UNASSUMING MAN WHO BREATHES HOSPITALITY. HIS HARD WORK AND DEDICATION TO SERVING PEOPLE LED HIM TO CREATE THE TRIANGLE’S FIRST AUTHENTIC ASIAN FUSION BISTROS AND SUSHI BAR. HIS FLAGSHIP RESTAURANT SHIKI SUSHI IN DURHAM FOLLOWED BY TASU BRIER CREEK AND TASU CARY. THE NEWEST EXPANSION OF THE SHIKI AND TASU BRANDS IS NOW THE SHIKI CATERING AND EVENTS IN DURHAM.

BORN IN VIETNAM, THAM MIGRATED TO THE UNITED STATES WITH HIS PARENTS AS A CHILD. HE WORKED HIS WAY INTO THE RESTAURANT INDUSTRY, LEARNING THE CRAFT OF SUSHI MAKING ALONG THE WAY. HIS DREAM WAS TO CREATE A WORLD CLASS RESTAURANT TO PROVIDE THE HIGHEST QUALITY SUSHI CREATIONS IN HIS ADOPTED HOME OF NORTH CAROLINA. THE RESULT OF THAT DREAM LED TO THE FOUNDING OF HIS FIRST RESTAURANT, SHIKI SUSHI IN 2003. BY ALL ACCOUNTS IT HAS BEEN A SUCCESSFUL JOURNEY; THE RESULT OF HIS HARD WORK, A PASSION OF EXCELLENCE AND DEDICATION TO SERVING HIS CUSTOMERS.
